AURS IN THE COMMUNITY
The AURS had some volunteers (Christine, Bruce, Brian, Scott, Rob and Mikey) work the check stop with the RCMP , Conservation Officers and Sustainable Resources on the May Long weekend. We handed out 500 - 1000 garbage bags and information pamphlets to the campers coming through the check stop and it was a great success! There was a bit of garbage left over out there but the responsible campers and the off road clubs took the time on Monday to clean up all the adjacent campsites to make sure that the area was clean. Congrats to all who made it a great weekend! The AURS also paid a portion of the money that it cost for the garbage bins that you saw out in Waiparous on the May Long Weekend, to help keep the area clean. They were used to capacity....Thanks to all the members that used the bins!
The AURS Executive and Membership would like to take this opportunity to thank Sustainable Resources, RCMP and Conservation Officers for the great job that they did this May long just past. Thanks for the fantastic work, and we look forward to working with you again.
