thanks

just leave it there. it will help out your mileage. plus i dont think there is a way to remove it and have the engine light stay off.

The O2 sensor should be somewhere closer to the manifold not way down by the convertor. You need to keep the sensor in the system. I cant see any harm in cutting out the cats and redoing the exhaust system without them and Flowmaster mufflers. What I do see is improved flow and therefore the motor doesnt have to work as hard, thus improving mileage but I could be wrong. I am doing this exact thing next year after the new motor goes in.

the check engine light staying on is kind of a problem. but if i do it like this, and keep the 02 sensor in, it won't hurt anything right?

it will not hurt anything. the only reason the o2 sensor is there is to ensure that a proper amount of oxygen is getting to the cat. for it to work properly. your truck wont know the diffrence after you take out the converter. but if you take out the O2 sensor also the truck will run rich thus the downfall in mileage.

so you will have no troubles when your done (just a better sounding and performing truck)
