I am wondering if you guys can tell me where to some work done my engine in Calgary.....she has lost a lot of power and is burning oil bad after a little incident. Another option would be to find another 22RE as well that is already rebuilt. I have an 85 4Runner and I don't plan on getting rid of it so I want the work/engine to be good. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Oh ya, I am in no big hurry as long as she is good to go by May long weekend. Thanks!

Mabey you are already aware of this but it is not a cheap swap to do. That four banger is a good engine and will do whatever you want if it is geared properly. The 4.3 swap is a good swap don't get me wrong, just pricey. Another option that is gaining popularity is the 5MGE or 7MGE turbo swap.
Just my .02 cents, Good Luck!

Ya, I here ya. The one nice thing about the 22RE is the gas mileage too. I just bought some LC Eng headers for it as well, so that would be a waste of cash.......

Jack at DPI engines overhauled my 22RE for $2,000. He only charged me $750 for the labour and knocked $150 off the price becasue I only had 2 G's to spend. He is near Okotoks and his number is 938-7057. Also has a 90 day warranty.

22re
ha
get a real motor

350 almost bolts right in.
And hey when you are climbing a hill with the 22re and you start to power out just imagine if you have a 350 all you'd have to do is push your loud pedal down a little further.

How much did it cost you to put it in? Cash is always a problem and I don't have access to a garage right now.

I have no problem with too much power. You want to put one in it for some beer
