Hello,
I am currently running Toyota Front/rear Diffs in my '75 Jeep CJ 5. I just recently got this bush rig and am not too familiar with it yet, but I was told that the diffs are from a '78 or earlier Toyota. I was not able to find any model or ID tag on either of them.
The brakes are manual brakes. Wich is quite brutal when you have 36" tires. And so, I would like to upgrade to Power brakes with disks up front, keeping the rear drums.
I do have a spare power brake "booster" (I think it's a GM).

I havn't been able to find much Info on these Toyota Diffs and the brakes that are attached to them.
I would like to know what type of disks can I get for the Fronts? I would prefer the biggest size rotors as possible, but what will fit on the Toyota axles, mounted on a Jeep, with minimum modifications.

Thanks in Advance.

'78 or earlier toy? If they are toyota diffs and have front drum they have to be Cruiser diffies as Toy 4x4 picks up weren't available till '79 and they came with front discs. If they are Cruiser diffies you can swap toy pick up discs and rotors fairly easily. You'll need to find a pick up diff to rape for parts though. The rear diff is easily identified... the cruiser rear diffies have the 3rd member offset to the passenger side and a removable inspection cover.
