got a steal of a deal on an '86 2wd pickup with 22r-e in it, if i want it. am currently running an '84 4X4 xtracab with carb. thinking i might switch over to the fuel injection. any *big* problems? anybody know what's all needed from the 2wd? straight forward, sorta? anyone ever do this? thanks in advance for all replies...

If you have a complete donor truck the swap won't be bad at all.. simply install complete wiring harness and computer , you will also need to change the fuel pump over, should be fairly easy..good luck clayton

Remember big guy, swap the whole thing exaust and everything. Check the oil pans they may be different, if so use the 4x4 one.

just finished mine after doddling along on and off with it, and *it runs*... heh heh heh... i just pulled the wiring harness(complete) from the donor truck, pulled the fenders off(harness runs through them), and plugged everything back in to the *efi* block. fired right up. you'll need the gas tank from the donor truck for the electric fuel pump(that's what i used, there are other ways). make sure you mark *all* the plugs you unplug(lots of extra stuff, toyota call's them *check plugs* and their no good to you for now, so, *MARK EVERYTHING YOU UNPLUG*) sorry for yelling... too much to write here. *pm* me if you need more info. it's not too tough... *honest*

Glad to hear that she's running again. EFI is soooooo much better in the 22r's case.
BTW did that winch I sold you work out ok?
Later,
Tye
