Let me try this again, now that we're in a whole new web world. I'm looking at an '86 GMC 3500 w/DRW. I would like to know what's involved in converting it to a single wheel set-up, for ease of running large tires. Thanks <--Jay "underpressure" for your response on the old page, but I didn't understand what you were talking about.

Thanks again
LUKE

im pretty sure you can just buy some new wheels and put them on.
the front will be wider then the rear but its possible.
otherwise you could just change the front rotors to SRW ones to bring the front tires in.

Actually, that's a good idea. I didn't even think about that as an option, I would be pretty unique. Thanks for the opinions.

Glad you liked it, always wanted to try it seems like it would work well in S. Alberta. Love the choice of vehicle to start with too. If you want to do small/big, 34x9.50 Swampers will work as well. I just couldn't justify that kind of beast wheeling where I do (lets just say, people make fun of my Short bed/reg cab Ram for being far too big)

The guys at modern converted a dually ford 550 to single rear with spacers and stuff. Put semi truck tires and rims on it. Looks really awesome.... Very tall... You should talk to them about the spacers and stuff. If the sell em for ford, chances are there are parts for your truck available too. They'll tell you hows its done...

Thanks for the info, but I missed out on this rig anyways. Thanks again. Still searching.
