Hummm looks fine...but maybe it is dated?? hahah thanks for the effort BOWZONE!!! Jenn will just have to make the final decision...I have worked in companies where something like this can tie up a team of 6 people for 3 months Don't form a committiee to decide. Tim's does look damn good...the use of the same green does give it recognition!! No offense Drever...but those colors not sure if people would put em on their rigs.

i took my sticker and cut off the square portion at bottom. The "football" shape was more pleasing on my jeep. i like the idea of a black/grey/white sticker (actually kinda like Bogginfreaks stickers...the color scheme) So if we could take Tim's and get rid of the square at bottom and use variuos shades of black than it would look good on any color truck??? Hahaha!! Ok so I suck! See I don't watch survivor so it didn't even occur to me (actually that's not true... I saw some of it last night)... I just like bright colors I guess I also like the green cuz it adds color to our letterhead... and if green stays then less "paper" work so to speak...hahaha Scott - I like that 2 tone thing you got going on... I think your idea would make AWESOME "bumper stickers"... hint, hint! But what about a long one the same way, but with www.AURS.org all in one shot so people driving can remember better? Oh, oh.. here I go again... k, I'll shut up now

In my humble opinion, please don't use orange. I don't mean to be a weenie, but what about those of us with light colored rigs? Personally, I think a big orange spot on a white jeep would look VERY bad... Green however, would look okay! I'll see if I can come up with something, I tend to like the letters, because it's easily readable on a vehicle, not some puny writing...
PS - Try to stay away from sharp corners, it aids the sticker in peeling. The country 105 stickers are a perfect example of this, they used to be big rectangles, now they are cutouts around the mountains, the old ones were a B!TCH to get off after about 1cm, whereas the new ones, I can peel off easier than I can shake a stick at!

Doc, 'Football' shape + BLACK / GREY / WHITE = RAIDERS??? Hummmm subconscious maybe?? It would also match both your TJs very well.

i like the one tim most recently posted. i would say that it should be a sort of a semi circle cut though, not the square. i do think the colours, etc. (white/green) they look good. i also liked bowzone's last one, with the sorta oval deal... except i think it should be rounded over the top and the trails fun supporter should be an idea to consider, too. classy i also think it might look good on a bit darker background, like a light to medium gray? my .02! hope it helps. dan

I like tims last one too...
And what ladybug said is totally true...
Each color ads a lot more $$$
Like doc said, grey/black/white is the best or even the various shades of green would be good too.

the final logo could hit t-shirts for June, hoodies for the September Volunteer Days, can you play with something that offers a reverse color scheme so we can put it on a green or black hoodie? White is fine for t-shirts but not hats or hoodies.
Cheers, J

Bigfoot, I couldn't help but think about this comment you made while I was working away on my jeep. I think a good reason that all the other forums that this has been posted on have not responded to the challenge of creating a logo is because all the other forums are club based forums. Boggin' Freaks are all registered members to a very fast growing public forum board not necessarily from the local area but never the less all enthusiastic. 1. In my view for the AURS decal is not to make any changes for the same reason you don't change your phone number all the time. Recognition. I've been stopped while on the highway and on the forestry trunk road many times for various reasons. There’s one of two things they spot right away, my club decal or the AURS trail funs sticker. Surprisingly they strike up a conversation much quicker than they ask for all the paper work The Four Wheel Stampeders have been around for a long time and so have a lot of the other clubs in the Calgary area. The AURS has also been around for quite some time now and is certainly recognized for their responsible activities like the work week- ends. 2. When the original logo was created years ago it was created by a new group of enthusiasts who put their minds and creativity to use and came up with what I think is a very responsible looking logo that a lot of people have grown to like and respect. Keeping the traditional stuff around sometimes may seem lame to a few but tends to grow on you after a while. There’s no need to step on the toes of those who designed this logo years ago just to satisfy a few that may think the logo is out dated. I don’t think there’s any need to imply that the people on the other forums aren’t just as active as those who feel a change is necessary and answer the contest call on one particular forum. Some may not be reading everything, some may really not care, some may think change is not good. I can’t answer for other members of our club or the members of any other club but this is certainly something that went through my mind while twisting wrenches. Gun

I like the old logo too, but like I said, please, get rid of such square corners, it makes it a pain in the butt to keep stuck on. I know that it saves cost (square corners means it can butt right up against another sticker) to have corners, but at least make them rounded a little!

pair of scissors? just a suggestion... i know i was posting for rounded ones up top, but there's an easier (cheaper) way to pull that off.. just snip snip snip and you're set

Gun and others,
When I put together the designs for the "new" logo, please note that it incorporates many of the elements, colors and feel of the original logo, while attempting to update it and make it more visible.
I always thought that AURS should be more visable on our masthead and stickers, as that is what we are known as.
It is not a radical departure, but instead a re-imaging of the original, which was always a good logo in my mind. There is a reason I never changed the color scheme, nor some of the elements as I wanted it to reflect the history and look of the original, which people have come to know and recognize.
Tim.

I would cut 'n paste pieces of Wolf's comment but I agree with all of it, it appears to me that most of the logo ideas come from the same state of mind, reference the original, change where change is due and...put out ideas so that change can come through the joint efforts of many talented and AURS aware individuals.
Let's get back to logo options please, the more we have the better our chances are of finding one that appeases the many, rather than the few.
Thanks, J

I think it may be the concern of looking like one of those old guys out looking for their vehicle in the parking lot. If I come out and can't remember what the new decal looks like I'll have to wait for the store to close to find my jeep. I don't want you to get me wrong on this. I too like where Tim is going with the look of the decal because he's following the original sticker very nicely but improving the way the AURS stands out as strongly as it is on where we stand on issues and stands out appearance wise. My post was in answer to Bigfoots comment about no other forums taking off and running with new ideas for the sticker. So far with the colors, Tims would probably be the cheapest change and still sticking with the original look.
