I run GM Syncro mesh fluid in mine. It's a semi synthetic, and it's really friendly on the brass syncros. I noticed the difference right away, way smoother shifting and the gearbox is very quiet now. I change mine twice a year, especially if doing a lot of deep water fording. Better safe than sorry, and considering the hassle of pulling the tranny, and cost of repairs, fluid changes are VERY $cheap as compared

when i had my jeep , i ran all kinds of stuff, the regular gl-5 rated gear oil-super slick 5000, and the only fluid that i can honestly say made a difference was the gm syncromesh fluid.
if ur tranny is on the way out do the syncromesh or even if ur tranny is still good get started on it now .
