i have lifted my 79 bronco 3.5 inches.the kit is by rancho.ever since the lift i have a very severe front tire wobble.when i hit a bump under 50kms it bounces fromside to side.i can't control it till i come to a complete stop.when i hit any speed higher than 50km + it doesn't happen.whats wrong?i was told possibly ball joints.i still have the stock track bar on.could this be the problem?do i need a longer one?i had to compress the front suspension to get the track bar in.is the front under too much pressure?

did you have a good alignment done after the lift? caster not adjusted right can cause a hell of a wobble worse if a bump is hit. bad stabalizer can cause as well.

an alignment was done before the lift and i was told because its a dana 44 straight axle you can only adjust toe in and toe out.the stablilizer is a new rancho about 6 months ago.any other possible problems?

The problem is your trac bar bushings, I have a spare set made out of antiwear nylon if you need them. I have gone through 10 of the autovalue sets but you can take my word that the bushings are gone. Any way give me a call Marc 256-3805.

Hell my buddy went thru a set of TRW bushings then a set of Rancho ones, finally got pissed off and machined on the lathe a set of aluminum ones, I beleive even these only lasted two years but better than the others that only lasted a long weekend of boggin!

hey bronco marc.thanks for the info.i might have a set of polyurathanes ones,let me check first.knowing my luck i probably won't be able to find them.i'm tempted to sell everything,i haven't wheeled yet after the lift and new tires,just regular drive to work and i noticed i broke my new rear rough country shock??????is my track bar long enough or do i need to get a longer one?

The trac bar is long enough but the problem lies in the torque of the bushing bolts and the size of the tires. The tires is a big factor on the bushings. But the way to tell is if the drivers side tire sticks out a little more than the passenger that will tell you if your bar is long enough. Any problems wally give me a call I know these trucks like the back of my hand.

problem has been solved thanks broncomarc.it was the tracbar bushings.holly crap there wasn't much left of the bushings.
