Geez.. I'm feeling screwed, I paid well over $5000 and am roughly around that.. And your saying I could have done it for $1000.. Shit..
Speaking of which.. Anyone know of a cheap dyno place.. I wouldn't mind seeing how close mine is to the "estimated output" that it's supposed to have..

Tim, that split off of 4 Wheel Parts in Edmonton's got a 2500 horse water dyno (I think it's extreme auto or something). I think Campbell Automotive has one too.
A friend paid 13,000 for a 400 small block that made an estimated 450 horse, but pulled 413 on the dyno. Even that was at 6300 RPM, not the projected 5700.
It was in a river boat motor that let the beam on a roller lifter set go at high rpm taking the motor out after a few months use.

78 Jimmy, ABS in Regina has a dyno. Bruce charged me 350 plus consumables to dyno the 440 for my Charger. Bewarned thogh a dyno has a way of turing 1000hp estimated motors int 250 actual motors.

_Have access to an "Inertia dyno" right now he is only set up for chevy blocks (go figger>?) Actuall numbers, ______Inertia dyno = motor only. _Dude loves playin' on it, always lookin' fer new victims to play with, (heheheh) I personally have a 1/2 dozen built carbs over there that are in the testing group, everyone digs my 660cfm fer they're SBC, oop's off topic? _bottom line, y'all bring yer blocks to me at the same time (guessin' y'all run GM?) and we can make a full day of printing out Dyno sheets, fer all-o-ya. (which means totally nuthin' when you take into consideration driver input), when the vehicle is put to use, which is anuther thread in itself.

Little off topic, but I'm running hyperectic pistons, double plasma rings, and LT1 rods, with mildly ported double hump heads, and a dual cross over with twin 600cfm holleys.. Block is decked, heads are shaved, estimated 10.5:1 compression..
Is it safe to dual plate nitrous this engine.. I also balanced and blueprinted then engine..
dweller.. I'm almost tempted to pull the block and drive down there to take you up on that dyno.. Albeit I spent more than $1000, but I think I'll be close to 400 horse..
