After painting something you arent supposed to put anything like wax over it for like a month or two so that the paint has a chance to completely dry and breath. Or so i have been told. I got in an accident over the winter and had to get a new tailgate so i stripped all the paint off of one from a junk yard and repainted it in like february and i still havent waxed it. still looks good

Wait 30 days before you even wash it! you can wash by hand but not a pressure washer. Then if it is dulling, runs ets. Then you wet sand it and polish the wax is the finishing touch!
