Picked up a 64 valiant with cuda emblems on the inside of the doors on the metal. Valiant emblems on nose and trunk lid, is there a cuda valiant or WTF is going on here?? I think its a BB, how wide are they? Similar head and block size as Chev 454?? I don't know too much bout these animals, the guy I got it from don't know shat either

BB have the dist. at the front sticking out at an angle, SB are at the back . That's about all I can help with.

The options for SB are: 318, 340, 360. All use the same block and thus will 'look' the same size. 340 is the big performance motor but are VERY rare. If you have one you got a smokin deal.
Motor size is usually stamped into the block on the driver's side just underneath exhaust manifold or on the driver's side head at the front just below the valve cover.

if it looks like a big block but is orange(usually), I'd say its a 318 WIDEBLOCK good motors but they are FAWKIN huge for being just a 318 (those are for LES

does the motor look like this.

the big visual difference between A (poly or wide block) and LA are the valve covers the bottom of the poly valve covers are scalloped.
