Sorry bout the questions but I can't get the oil pump drive gear off the crank shaft. It looks like it should just slide off but it's stuck on pretty good. Any tricks???

I'm not exactly familiar with toys, but maybe it's pressed on.

It should just slide off, try tapping it with a hammer and brass drift punch to jar the woodruff key loose in the slot, it may be binding slightly. Or maybe a pin punch that fits into the keyway to tap on the end of the key itself, just don't whack the shit out of it & mushroom the end of the key.

Mine came off with just a little pressure.Try using a flat edge screwdriver to pry it off.

Thanks guys, but I'm still having no luck. I tried to pry it out with the falthead, banged it with a block of wood and a hammer, tap it with a punch and a ton of liquid wrench. Even got a gear puller from crappy tire but I can't fit it in between the timing chain cover and the back of the gear. Maybe there are smaller pullers out there?

Do I even need to take it off to get the timing chain cover off?? It's really pissing me off cause I want to get my truck going, hopefully leak free. Any other suggestions???

On a side note... I had to remove a timing gear from a cam today. The bastard held 17 ton on the press, had to heat under load, then that fugger went off like a cannon.
