Get Bent... Thats my busines name! I'm looking at expanding my race component business (I asked DJ if this was OK) I have to admit when I first found this site, the name Boggin Freaks sounded like my kind of deal.... a whole bunch of mud racer prospects!!!! However this doesn't seem to be the case. I've only ever seen a few of you at any races but I like these sites because there is always someone doing something cool. I've been working like crazy the last couple months to expand my little fab shop so I can do what I want with it ....finally!!! I've got a lathe, tons of welding equipment, almost have a deal done on a decent milling machine and by spring hope to have CNC lathe capability and a surface grinder. I've been trying to get a market for my mud racing chassis for several years now but it is going nowhere. This new deal will be geared more towords the average wheeler. The main focus will be narrowing rear end housings for Jeeps etc. Mostly 9" (big bearing) but I'm adding D60 and 12 bolt bushings to my rear alignment jig. I also make weld in rod end adapters for tubing (for link bars) in left and right thread. These are made especially for off road, wet environment applications. The other thing I'll be focusing on will be the air shifter I've been using on my rail for a while now (not much use here!!!) I'm also working on a bolt on bracket for rear disk brakes on 9" rears. I'll also be selling some of the weld on disk kits that I've been using on my race stuff if there is any interest. Don't think this will apply here but once I get my mill I'll be producing a hi hp capable flexable coupler for chain drive front steups(could be used for drop down drive setup as well) What I'm looking for is if there is any interest in any of this stuff here? I'll have axles available from Bears/Strange and have talked to Byers Trucking about having core rears shipped out to Cranbrook from Alta. I have some cores I've collected but this would be mostly with your cores. I also wouldn't mind some suggestions for something else you'd like to see available or mfg'd. Thanks..... Rusty

I'd be looking to have 3 links built for the rearend nearer the end of winter. I don't want to try and build something like that, I can do the brackets though.

Thanks guys... some already know what I've done with Gm calipers already but they are non e-brake. I realize that I have to concentrate on E-brake calipers. Problem is the cost. If you have cores they are cheap... about $60 exchange for T-Bird calipers... no core $150 ea. The Ford calipers are a real bitch to mount compared to GM. I have a good Bird disk 9" core right now. I just got it and haven't had time to see what all I can do with it yet eg, wheel clearance, room for bigger BP etc. The GM is a whole lot easier but the car calipers aren't wide enough for the truck rotor. I really want to find some off one of the really huge Caddies. I think they might be wide enough. Gotta have an E-brake. I've seen lots of pinion or driveshaft mounted rotors... they work great till you bust a driveshaft or twist off a pinion. I think the new composite rotors are the way to go but then we have this... rotors $150 ea, calipers $150 ea.... $600 already. We don't want that do we?

I know that '76-'78 Eldorato, Riviera, and Toranado rear calipers will solve the e-brake problem. Mount them opposite sides and back wards the e-brake arm will not be hanging in harms way. Bleeder screws are upside down so bleeding is a pain, but small price to pay.

Luke... do you know if they are wide enough for the Ford truck rotor though? They are (new) nearly 1/4" wider than the GM car rotors that I've measured. I like the Ford rotor because it gives you a good offset to clear wide wheels. Some Alu wheels have the right backspace but the way they are made can cause lots of clearance problems with the top of the caliper. Problem I have here is the junkyards don't keep anything over 10 yrs old so that ol' stuff is getting hard to find. I'll have to see if Lordco might just "mistakenly" order one in for me to measure.

Those caddy ect... calipers will use a stock chevy truck front rotor (12.5" diameter I think it is). So a ford rotor should fit
