I openly scoff at your feeble welding jokes and your pipe/tubing/rollbar info. I'm giving you all some REAL info here. This should go into the tech forum but....well....just read it.
RECOMMENDED SPECIFICATIONS FOR PIPE AND INSTALLATION OF PIPE
1. All pipes are to be made of a long hole surrounded by metal or plastic, centered around the hole.
2. All pipes are to be hollow throughout the entire length; do not use holes of different lengths than the pipe.
3. The inside diameter of all pipes must not exceed the outside diameter, otherwise the hole will be on the outside.
4. All pipes are to be supplied with nothing in the hole, so that water can be put inside at a later date.
5. All pipes should be supplied without rust; this can be more effectively applied at the job site. NOTE: Some vendors are now able to supply pre-rusted pipe. If it's available in your area, this new product is recommended, as it will save a great deal of time at the job site.
6. All pipes over 500 feet (153 meters) in length should have the words "Long Pipe" painted on them, so that the installation crew will not mistake it for a short pipe.
7. Pipes over 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) in length must also have the words "Long Pipe" painted in the middle, so that the installation crew will not have to walk the entire length of the pipe to determine whether it's a long or short pipe.
8. All pipes over 6 inches (152 millimeters) in diameter must have the words "LARGE PIPE" painted on them so that the installation crew will not mistake it for a small pipe.
9. All pipe flanges must have holes for bolts. These holes are quite separate from the big hole in the middle.
10. When ordering 90 degree, 45 degree, or 30 degree elbows, be sure to specify right or left hand, otherwise you will end up going in the wrong direction.
11. Be sure to specify to your vendor whether you want level, uphill, or downhill piping. If you use downhill pipes for going uphill, the water will flow the wrong way.
I hope all you guys in the Patch use this valuable information to the fullest.
