Loc: BC, for now..
Alright, i have a little problem that has become a really annoying problem. I was replacing my PCV valve on my 4 cylinder jeep and the part broke off in my hand. It was completely plugged with burnt oil. I bought a replacement hose and tried to buy the pcv valve, and go figure they sent me home with TWO that dont fit. I went to Triton to find the part, and this part wasnt even in their manual of pcv valves. SOOOO now, i have a new hose, but no PCV valve to attach to the engine, and now i dont really know what to do... I called Jeep and they gave me a number, i tried to put it in, and it doesnt fit. I'm not the smartest person about engines, and to me this isnt the stock engine.. i may be wrong, but i dont understand why it wont fit, if Jeep tells me it should. What should i do, because i dont want to drive my car with a big hole in the crank case but i need to get this fixed.. and where the hell should i take it??? Any advice would be GREAT!!! email or pm me.. lil_rowdy_cowgurl@hotmail.com
thanks

What year and what's it in? There's 4 (or so) different setups for 4 cyl PVC's. There's also PVC *IN* and PVC *OUT*. Maybe they are getting something there screwed up. Did you take the old one with you to compare them?

Ya i brought it, but it was broken but i took as much of it as i could. and they sent me home with 2different ones. Its a 94 Jeep YJ 4 banger engine, and its the valve at the back of the crankcase. It comes off the engine and the hose goes to the air intake. (i'm sure u know, but this is all i really know) i have ever taken the Serial number from the damn jeep and given it to them. i dont really understand. I gotta track down the guy i bought it from and figure this out. cause its soo annoying, i cant even drive my own damn vehicle. But if u could explain the different setups or if mine sounds familiar, ANY info will help at the moment. and Is there anyway, i could make something to work to get my jeep running to take it to the parts shop??? Im kinda crafty.. if u can think of anything, let me know.

I'm not too familiar with chit that new but I think that's a CCV system ya got there. If it's the one on the rear it should be a fresh air inlet to the rocker cover. I don't know for sure but think this isn't real critical. The front one is the meter...a 2.2 mil orifice. I'd try just about anything that would flow air and seal good enough to get you around til you can get the right part. Prolly someone else here has more experience with the new fangled contrapshuns than me and may tell ya different. Good luck!
