I'm putting a narrow track waggy D44 front end in my ol' Wilys truck. Having a few problems but finding out lots of good stuff too. Also putting a Ford T-Bird disc brake rear end in it too. Problem...waggy front diff is 6 stud outers. Going to narrow the rear, put in Bears axles and use the T-Bird rotor etc. Not enough room on the rotor to machine it out for 6 studs (too many ugly holes etc). 5 on 5 1/2" Ford/Jeep bolt pattern will fit. So....the waggy front had to be changed over to Ford BP. Have the waggy spindles apart and measured, now have to find the correct Ford hub and rotors to fit the small waggy spindle AND still use the GM style caliper and bracket. I've read lots about which ones to use and there seems to be some conflict on the years of parts that will work. I'll keep you posted and if someone has something to add...fire away.

Fawk....with chit like that...I may have to splurge and take the missus out for a Suday drive to the South Country dump. I will bring home every axle I can find now. She'll be so darn proud! Brag to all her friends...get T-shirts made....you know...(Actually she fawkin hates it when I go to the dump) (shhh...I NEVER haul anything OUT to the dump)

Well son of a gun! Went to the dump early this morning and what was sitting there? Ha....a 1980(ish) Bronco....front end complete! Got all the chit I need for the swap. $250 from the wreckers....$0 from the dump. Also got 2 good 15X8 rims, shifter boots etc. Cool. Got home and cleaned up some of the parts. I can tell you this...I must have a mid 70's on waggy front. It has a heavier inner spindle bearing than the Ford. So it looks like I do need the 72 to 77 Chevy or 72 to 74 Jeep wheel spindle(Spicer part #706528X). And you can't swap bearings. The outer bearings are the same but the inners are different. I could machine the spindle down or machine out the hub....but I learned long ago with my race shit...the KISS principal does apply. Nice to use stock shit if you can.
