This is the start of it...sheesh...looky at all that rust! Best rear Yota springs I could find at the dump

Gotta break down the packs and make one pair out of all these.
Once that's done it'll be on to building a new crossmember/spring hanger for the front.

Nope..no hydro...no fancy chit...These are supposed to werky...we'll see I guess..

Holy Chit..big difference from the ol' stock leaves huh?
Here's the bottom part of the hanger mount

Just had to graft in a receiver...just in case I ever get the urge to try a reciever mounted winch

Tomorrow it'll all get welded up wit 7018...still have to figure how to work some rebar into this too...
Oh ya...hopefully tomorrow I'll have pics of the frame straightner contraption I'm building to fix the frame on this turd. Gotta straighten it before I can weld all this chit into it. I'ts gonna be hillbilly tech...

Hey Krusty... trust me ya dont want no stinkin receiver mounted winch, too hard on the back stumbling thru knee deep mud carring those things! I had one on my F150 for the first couple years, refuse to ever go that way again, its either front and rear winch, straight thru or listening to my buddies laugh at me while they pull my ass out. I prefer the former.

Thanks bud...I really wondered about that. They LOOK like a good idea but I hear ya on the lifting thing. Course I could just drag Colin along...he'd carry the winch in one hand! The reciever won't go to waste though. Hopin to build a cool engine hoist this winter that'll slide into the reciever. Then I can move rear diffs and chit a lot easier around the yard, lift up REALLY fat gurls....and...aw chit...there must be something I can do with it.

You fawkers! I'm jealous...got a bender settin here...lot's of fawked up ideas in my head...and no gawdamm tubing. FAWK!!! Only steel place in town that can get it....choke... near 10 bucks a foot for 1 3/4" X .120 wall steenkin ERW. Fawk....I used to buy DOM for half of that a few years ago. Was going to order a bunch from Spot but the new steel place in town said they'd get some from him just to have some in stock. They "forgot"! Nice...

Dan'l...might as well be in jail...got sucked into rebuilding a big fawkin Gradall bucket. Shitty work, bending up 1" thick T425 for a round face ditching bucket and fitting in segments. Lots of them weigh over 180 pounds...no gawdamm crane...gotta wrastle them around by hand. Damm funny that the regular weldor took holidays after he had all the easy chit done. I'm so pissed...I decided to take tomorrow off and werk on my truck

Was a ho-hum weekend I guess...didn't get a whole lot done it seems but it all had to be done. took the spring packs all apart again. Had to make a couple of more short leaves from a busted long one. Holy chit are Toyota springs hard! I've drilled lots of holes in Chevy springs with no problems. These friggin things....the biggest carbide drill I have is a 3/16" si I drilled pilot holes with that and tried to drill the rest with some good cobalt drills. No way! Fawked up my bits. Low rpm...lots of feed...lots of cutting oil..the holes just work hardened and drilling came to a screechin halt. Hmmm...what to do? Ahhh hah! Them carbide drills for cement...grind a little more angle on them and pisswistle through the hole! Then had to derust all the springs and paint em up with POR 15. All dat chit takes longer than you figure.
Got the new crossmember welded up but was havin a bitch of a time with all the rusted bolts and nuts holding the front springs on. Have to take the chit all off to straighten the frame. I COULD just leave it but I no likey crookid chit unless I made it crookid myself through an obvious act of stupidity. That is acceptable. Hangin new sheetmetal on a crooked frame is kinda ghetto...not something a self respectin hillbilly would do til the truck is smashed up by said hillbilly himself!
Gotta make up some dimple dies now to make a bunch of cool panels and chit out of some 3003 aluminum I have hangin around.
Gotta get this turd goin...

A crossbow style bender is like a jack operated pipe bender that you would find at Princess auto.

I don't dammit...all I got is a crappy ol' mandrel bender
The ridiculous price of tubing and getting it here now...I'm thinking of gettin a bownarrow bender and using pipe for more of my chit.

He he he...sorry I missed this post! Midget hoopball...would need sneaker endorsement first!
Just ordered my hysteer setup today...should be here middle of next week.
Gettin it from Hoyz. About $150 cheaper than OTT. I can live with forged 8620 arms instead of billit.
Sumbeach...it's gettin closer!
Had a nice fire tonite....right beside the full barrel of alcohol race fuel I like to keep next to my weldin/cuttin shit.
Changin all the brake lines...steel ones too. Fawkin cops will be pullin me over for an inspection no doubt. They don't need to see rusted brake lines or any chit like that. Fawkin BC cop Nazis anyway.
