FINALLY got my 4.3 from the guy. Took him awhile to pull it out. This is one of the early "Vortec" carburated jobs from a full size p/u. Little bastid makes a lot of power..suprised the hell out of me. It was in a big ol' Suburban....the guy pulled a few cars home from Alta with it.

These came with pretty cool factory headers and a mini Q-jet. Neat lil' motor

I know it isn't a Vortec in the true sense but that's what they where called back then when they brought them out in full size p/u in the 80's.
A buddy of mine who used to rodeo with us had one of these and pulled a three horse trailer all over BC and ALTA with it.
They pulled pretty decent for a 4.3.
A lot better than some of the TBI ones I've driven in S-15's and vans.
