I don't know a lot about Yotas yet...was always a Jeep/Cheby/Austin Mini driver. After having spent almost 300 hours fixing the fawkin body on my yota (all butt welded flush fit hand made panels) and doing a drivetrain swap(in progress) I see a few things.... You already have a V6 (I don't know how they compare to a 4.3), looks like a decent body, doesn't that come with a good rear end already(?) and I actually kinda like the bobbed station wagon deal. Looks pretty cool! Are there gear ratio issues with the V-6 rear when matching it up to an early solid front axle? The extra cab room would be nice too. I'd never build one cuz I'm a truck guy...but that'd be a pretty cool rig and the bob doesn't look very hard.

Its a nice one, Justin, now ya got me wondering what I can get for my POS, and downsize my DD, since I will be getting a 3/4 ton for hauling the Bronco around anyways.
Like Rusty, I myself am a pickup man as well, cant see me in a SUV.
One thing, though, if you gonna play some with it in the meantime, Ditch the running boards!

c pakage truck's have 4.56 gears. the main complaint I have had on these trucks is the engine is a bit under powered. I have done extensive engine work to get more power, results varied. headers are a complete waste of money I installed 3 different sets and then dynoed the units the most hp increase was from the cheapest set and it increased only 3hp over stock. I have played with mafs fuel presures porting ect. Some increase but the pay off wasn't what we were looking for. So I figured 4.56 gears were plenty until I regeared to 4.88 and 33" tire's much better. first bfg mt then swampers ssr then tsl even with the locker it worked well. As for solid axle I am going to be doing it to a guys truck soon so i have been researching it quite a bit. OTT has it down pat good company and easy to deal with (no over grown ego's) Can't wait to see how your bob tail works out. What about bobbing it and dovetailing it? that would be cool. Oh ya is this going to be a daily driver?

I'll try to find a pic but it's when you bring in the sides of the unit to make the rear narrow

Now I am super broke but the truck is going to run top notice for a long while
Lots of money but money prolly well spent. Too often we buy the bling chit and forget about the "real" stuff.

Hey...I see you lookin for someplace to get some bodywork done. Have you thought about picking up oh...say a Lincoln 135SP. some gas and .023 wire and doing it yourself? You'd also need an angle grinder with some zipcut discs, some cheap body tools (pikanding hammer, dolly, tinsnips, long board) and maybe a carport or shop. Damn good way to learn how to weld and it'd pay for the welder plus the tools easy. Body shops cost a fortune and it isn't really that hard.
