That'd be my choice. Hard to beat an auto in the mud and with a big block it'll help lessen driveline shock.
C-6 is probably the toughest auto ever made. I've seen them stand up reliably behind 1500 hp blown alky engines in pretty much stock form(try that with a standard!).
Big block C-6's are getting a little harder to find but prolly not as bad as TH400/205 combos.
Now for the cons...not as much engine braking when going down hills and uh..uh..uh...hmmm, all I can think of.

thats a pretty vague kwestion, kinda like askin which is better a redhead, er a blonde.....everyones gunna have a different opinion.
_Whats the purpose of the vehicle?
_Which are you more comfortable driving?
_Resale.....(some folks won't consider anything but an auto)
...i'm sure theres a ton more variables but I think #2 is the largest factor.
.
..personally, I love havin 3 peddles, and a stout trouble free unit. If yu decide to do it, I might take that 435 offa yer hands
...
...in my driveway its a split, 4 vehicles with manuals, and 2 with autos.......everything, chevy, ford, dodge, jeep, and toyota.
