Ya so,....I gotta do some shit in the third of the ol ladys yota, ('1983 pickup). So i'm as jap stoopid as the next metric hatin bastard,...this creepy mongoloid 1/2 metric, 1/2 sae thing is gunna come into the shop. What is the difference between gittin the axles out of the yota diff as opposed a 9".?..take the bearing retainer nuts off and pull the axle?..er is there some kinda fukny tule I need?...are the brakes a usual pain in the ass?...whats yer trix..save me time......

no speshul tools, trix? well i guess the one i would suggest is remove your brake lines before you pull the axles, cause if they havent been changed recently, youre gonna have to unhook them one way or the other. I tried to be a cheater, ended up with new brake lines.

Dwella, the brakes are mounted outboard of the bearings... backing plates gonna come of with the axles. Disconnect the brake hard lines and the e-brake cables. Other than that purty much just like a 9".

well, I gotta say, every tool i touched past takin the wheels off needed a "mm" style apparatus....I found none with chocolate coating, nor a peanut inside. _Also upon my first encounter I find the yota diff a mediocre specimen to say the least. People say they er tuff,..well I guess I'll find out.,the absolute werst crap the japs came up with is havin to remove the fukkin brake line...(hey i know...lets bleed out this fukkin air in -40 after fixin an axle knee deep in water!!!) It's like they stole a few pages outta henrys 9" plans and scurried them down some hole back to "pot-metaland" and smoked a bunch of opium and dreamt up the rest. _oh well she'll be welded up and back in service tomorrow, only throttle will tell I spose.

well thanks fer the info, that little project is over, i'm happy o report that both rear wheels are turning at the same rate in the same direction all the time now. _I guess its time to remove some weight from the front now, gunna throw the rad behind the cab, then ditch the cast iron 2bbl intake fer the alumiminum 4bbl one just takin up space. can forsee aluminum rims here right away too....the wife is gunna love it.

Whole whack of stooopid springs....WHY??????????? Fawkin retarded. What where the japs thinkin when they did this??????????????? 1940 brake tech in a 1980 truck...yipppeeee!!!
