Ive been hearing all sorts of different stories from a number of different people saying that waiprous is closed or will be closed for may long weekend this year? Is there any truth to this .. has anyone else herd otherwise. I dont wanna load up get out there and have to turn around.

no it's not closed, but reservations are booking up quickly, best thing to do is to get ahold of "hairy canary" on this site,(he bought bulk, early) as far as I know he is the only one left with spots fer sale, I think it's something like $60 fer the 3 days.

ya thats the thing, they only let in so many people now, (fire hazzards, etc.), so there was pre-registered spots available april 1. People like hairy kanary got extra coin and bought a bunch, kinda like a scalper...er whatever.
But by the looks of it maybe I was wrong, ...I think it was around $90 fer the 3 days, and ya gotta bring yer own firewood.

90 for one site or 90 for each car load of people... usually a few ... like ten er more cars of me and my buds head up there and grab a nice piece of land

Are all the spaces sold out ? And if so how many people will be out there ? As many as 2005 ?? Just wondering if its "THE" place to go this spring or what. All of you guys going and your buds ??

i thnk you guys are hooped, i mean if you want a good spot you have to buy early. I wont go, first of all im working, second of all i wouldnt want to go to a place full of idiots that should have stayed in the city

I heard that the locals from there are selling a whole buncha reservations on ebay, there going for over 200 bucks per night or sumthin crazy. I wont be headed that way.

I wnated everybody to know this.....I am part of Ground Punders, and I have personaly just talked to the Cochrane RCMP, Fish and Wildlife Officers, and Park Ranchers.....WAIPROUS is infact open, there will be extra police and The Police Helicopter motoring WAIPRIOUS as well as MCLEAN CREEK. There is no charge, unless you are camping in the group campground area, there is no charge. Also there will be no tolerance this year. One person screws up and all the campers in that area will be escorted out of WIAPROUS. If anyone has questions you can call Fish and Wildlife @ 403-297-8800

Ground Pounders is a 4X4 Rally group, that does not matter, and I am not the one that set that rule about one person screws up, that is what I was told by the RCMP, so if you have a problem with it deal with them. And I totaly agree, I do not think that they will beable to remove the or escort them out as easy as they think they can!!

Ho boy...just saw on the CTV news...the cops are getting all geared up to be a PITA.
BTW...I don't have to deal with anything. I'm in BC where we don't have just one little area to play in...so far.
I'm betting they are going to be pricks and if anyone does act up they are going to make a huge deal out of it.
