A powestroke diary...............
_Now Ford didda good thing, teamed up with IH and came up with the bastard mill known as the 7.3 PSD turbo diesel, first available in f350 c/c as a d.i. in '94(ish depending on country). Plain and simple it was a North American attempt at a smooth running reliable engine with liveable economy and decent power.
_with that said as most everyone knows I have a '97, well I now am just touching 660,000km's and still have nothing but good to sa about this truk, I maintain a steady 27 mp/g all the time in it throughout the harshest conditions. What a shame that Ford had to end such a good product to conform to the quiet so called more efficient engines that came after '98. Now I might be crazy, but if you build a better engine, ....and it doesn't have the same economy, let alone power, ...aaaannd on top of it all is continually breaking down. Would you not step back and look at the problem and address it?...
_Ya I'm discouraged.....wanna buy a new truck, but yet can't seem to find anything more than a bunch of cars mascarading as trucks in the lots nowadays.
_Oh yeah to add insult to injury.......the TTB!!! WTF with that, everyone says how it's shit?......660,000km's nothing but a set of ball joints at around 190,000km's and a passengers side axle u joint at about 625,000km's,..yea thats shitty alright?....my 97 dodge's straight axel d60/er 61 er whatever it is, is totaly beat to shit after 220,000km's and hasn't seen a fraction of the harsh abuse the TTB has taken.

what you don't want a 6.0l Just think if you get a 6.0l you can get all the free coffee at your local ford dealer and never get to work and watch you viberant bussiness go down the tube. But wait have a little paitients and wait for the 6.4 twin turbo don't know anything about it but i hope it's better that the 6.0

I just got back from a 6.4l course. It sounds great, but so did the 6.0l...........

The twin turbo design should eliminate all the current 6.0l turbo probs.

The beauty of the 6.4 is that in its current tuning it produces its peak HP and torque at a mere 1400 rpm's. Getting back to the low end grunt of the 7.3's.

Also they're saying goodbye to the electrical injector nightmares of the 6.0l by going back to a mechanical injector.

Hope it works as good as they claim. i guess we'll be finding out soon.

have a reeeeeeal good look at it in a vehicle?

I wouldn't want to have to work on it......even if it does work better than the 6.0.

I'm not saying I like it..... I hate working on anything that's got a diesel in it from ford.
