Hokai, SO, name is Clay Smith, living in Leduc Alberta. Found this site by way of a sticker on a ford bronco a few years ago that was doing the rounds on May long at waiprous (spelling?) and sorta filed it away till I thought I'd need it.

Guess I will afterall.

Just picked up a cheap 96 XJ Country with the typical run of equipment. Nothing special and all stock. Body is good, drivetrain is solid if not leaky. Will be chasing an oilfilter adapter o-ring set and perhaps some seals here and there. But whatever. She runs and hasn't got much rust. I'm good with that.

What I need the opinions on is budget lifts. Say a conservative 3" or thereabouts that won't affect handling unrealistically. I'm relatively apt mechanically and work at a shop, so easy access to tools and expertise. Have looked at the rocky road ones but customer reviews seem less than lovely, and don't know where else to really look.

SO, what say you from experience and knowledge?
And ought I post this somewhere else?

You're a mechanic at a shop, own the most common of all vehicles on the road today, and come on here talking about rocky road ice cream flavours?
Get a clue Clay Smith.

You're a mechanic and want budget? you know just well how crap parts last and perform, why you looking for shit? And you want it to handle well? HaHa

Stick some rocky road ice cream into it, wrap it with red greens secret (duct tape) and all will be well untill summer.

By then you should know that nothing beats Rum and Butter ice cream, and that beer, s-10 leafs and upcountry coils will be your friends!
