Ive got 16/38.5/15 Swampers. I want to run 15x10 8 bolts. The problem is with the front brakes. Ive got the dual piston calipers and 15 inch rims dont clear them. Ive heard of guys grinding the calipers down so they do fit. Is this safe? I have one 15x8 with 2.5 inch back spacing and it clears but 8 inch is too narrow and then my tires would stick way out! They are wide enough as it is!

its not so much the caliper that gets ground as it is the dust shield on the back(so the case of my dana 44 chev) maybe took an 1/8" off the calliper and cut the shield so it only had abotu a 1/4" lip on it all the way around. you can come check it out if ya want?? private message me

It is safe to grind the caliper down. On that particular caliper I belive you have about 1/4 - 1/2 an inch to work with. And the capilary's are low enough in the caliper, that you dont have to worry about hitting them. The other thing you could do is if they are steel rims, take them to a machine shop and get them to cut the center out and move it in thus offsetting your rims even more so clearance is not a factor. (We used to do this on endura stock cars so I know it is safe and will work for your application) and I think Alberta Wheel or Alberta Chrome will do the work for you.

The ford dana 44"s with dual piston calipers are completely different than the gm stuff.the ford is much bigger.i've tried to fit 15x10 wheels before and it couldn't be done.you may want to try calgary wheel for custom rims.

everything is possible! I run 15x12 Eaton beadlocks on my F250 with the big calipers, offset is your friend and throw the stupid dust shield away!

If you're going to go with new rims check out R.M.O.R. in Red Deer 403-348-0160.
